IMG_6335

Honestly, I am SO pumped for Halloween, but thinking about the preparation heading to the D-day was a bit too much now this time round, especially with our second boy, Asher, on board. Time is very crucial for me. Everyday I am challenged to think and do things more creatively; to save my time and energy.

And who knows that preparing a kid costume is a mountain work and effort?! But, do not worry. I have prepared some easy ideas for busy moms like us. You don’t need to spend any dollars on it, look around some stuffs inside your house you wouldn’t ever thought will be a life-saver for this Halloween season.

8 LAST MINUTE HALLOWEEN KIDS COSTUME IDEAS

1. Baby Burrito

who can resist this deliciousness in a wrap? So dayummm… Also a good way to keep your baby warm and calm during trick & treats.

2. Smurf

this photo was taken on Halloween 2014, when Jared was 4 months old. I woke up that day feeling discouraged cause I realised I haven’t had any costume prepared for my little one. Then suddenly, an idea came into my mind the moment I skimmed through Jared’s wardrobe (mostly blue and white – the theme of his nursery room). But, how cute it turned out at the end aye! Do you agree with me?

3. Baby Skeleton

My favourite invention this year.  1) Get white mask tape / 2) Cut them equally in size / 3) Stick them on the a black onesie (baby/toddler) or top & pant (kid)

#FASHIONFRIDAY – DENIM GANG FEATURING ERGOBABY OMNI 360

The colder weather is officially hit. And we’re just done with packing our shorts and summer tanks. However, there’s this one item which always stay in our closets; denim jacket. Who doesn’t love a good piece of denim? It is one of the best buy of my life; I can pair it with almost anything – when in doubts wear denim. So, clearly, this week we had no idea what to wear for the photoshoot, so let it be denim. Gah. Hahahaha

It was such a nice warmer day yesterday and thank God for hubby’s day off. He took me and the kids out to Bicentennial Park to get some fresh air. Jared’s enjoying the walk with his scooter and mommy with her koala featuring the new range of Ergobaby Omni 360 – all positions baby carrier improved with new design and cool air mesh fabric.

  1. Cooler for parents and baby with breathable full body mesh.
  2. One-handed adjustment to switch from baby facing in to facing out.
  3. Ergonomic seat grows from newborn to toddler (7-45 lbs)
  4. Crossable shoulder straps & lumbar support waist belt for long-wearing comfort.
  5. Cushioned head & neck support and baby hood for sun protection & privacy.
  6. Detachable storage pouch

Also, it comes in 4 new gorgeous colours; oxford blue (as pictured), midnight blue, khaki green, pearl grey

Processed with VSCO with a6 presetProcessed with VSCO with a6 preset

Ergobaby has been a part of our family since Jared was born. He travelled in it pretty much. But I have to admit, the old fabric is way too thick and heavy. Then, I got a chance to try new range of Omni 360 and super love with it. Even hubby proved it loud, “this piece is amazing.” I love the new fabric, it is thinner and breathable; it keeps baby comfortably close to parents for a long period of time. The improved neck support is perfect for newborn, which means saying good bye to infant insert. Plus point – detachable pouch is quite generous in size, fit in for some mom’s essentials; phone, purse, key and dummy.

Happy baby. Happy mommy. Asher’s sleeping really well under my Ergo, letting my both hands free to catch Jared when it’s needed. 😉

Do you have any favourite baby wearing for exploring or travelling? Leave them on the comments below.

#FASHIONFRIDAY – STROLL STRIPES

Hello another weekend!

Glad that we could have spend time together as a family of four. Our family quality time is pretty simple; strolling around the city, cafe hopping, playground and capturing moments.

And guess where we visited today?! Yes! Another day in Surry Hills. It is indeed one stylish neighbourhood next to the city which filled with many cafe scene. This was the place destination when we were dating till today, we take the kids with us like a joey in our pouch.

The kids enjoy the stroll as much as we do, while sipping his  version of coffee called babycino, then we stopped by here and there to take some pictures. And how I loved seeing how the photos turned out at the end of the day; many raw moments which we will treasure in few years to come.

OH LETS PUT A PRESSURE POINT to the outfit theme of the day; STRIPES STRIPES STRIPES…

Don’t they look cute together? Horizontal lines will give wider illusion to your body, an in contrast, vertical lines will give thinner illusion to your body. Let’s see. I don’t really believe in it, I still look wide in these photo though. T T What should I do >>> ? aghhh…Nevermind let’s not focus on my flaws. Let’s take a look at the star of the day/ the over – achiever. My forever firstborn, Jared. He’s clearly looking cute with this edgy look.

Oh and tomorrow we’re going to celebrate Jared’s 4th birthday! DINO RAWR!! gonna get back to blowing some balloons. So see you next week! X

#FASHIONFRIDAY : BLEU BLUE

These shots was taken last Sunday, straight after church. Because that is the only day when the whole family dress up well for the occasion. Oh yeah…we’re meeting Jesus, we’d better put our best attire on, right?!

It was raining that day, so we chose to wear something waterproof. Daddy and Mommy were up for some navy trench raincoat while Jared was looking cool with his feather printed blue jacket.

We had such an early departure from home, church was fun and amazing, then the kids were over-tired; they had some nap in the car while us, the parents had to eat some Chinese take away lunch in the car. You gotta do what you have to do, they said.

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

We stopped by at the Hunters Hill skate park on the way home, and let Jared play his scooter there. 30 minutes later, he refused to go home. 45 minutes later, he started to negotiate with us. 60 minutes late, he accepted our bribe; McDonald’s run it was. Happy Meal to keep the kid happy.

Went straight back home and took some quick indoor casual family photos utilising the minimal lights inside our unit. NOW, ALL EYES ON US.

Last but not least enjoy some #thecuttingroomfloor from last week shooting – and let me introduce you to Jared; the over-achiever, cause there’s always one in the family, right?! Happy weekend guys! Enjoy your time with some lovelies. X

#FASHIONFRIDAY – AUTUMN FEELS

black and leather are very versatile for any seasons. It goes well with any denim and colours. It is a MUST ITEM in everyone’s wardrobe, including the kids’.

Hello Friday! It’s been a while I am putting my passion for fashion aside. Until last week, when I was cleaning up my IPhone storage, I found some great lookbook photos of me with the family. Somehow, it sparked the fire back to start The Tjungsquad fashion section. So, let’s level up the fun by starting a new official hashtag of my fashion section #fashionfriday – I will try my best to update this section once a week, yes new fashion inspiration will up live on Friday.

Today, let’s talk about autumn. Yeah I see it’s June already which means winter is no longer near, instead, IT IS HERE! But, how can you deny the beauty of autumn?! I can not. It is surely my favourite season. And still in the autumn feels and my favourite colour mode; Yellow and orange.

These photos were taken 2 weeks ago during our family day out. And our first time out & about photoshoot with Asher. I didn’t planned in the first place to take some family fashion shots, but just realised we were wearing colour – coordinated outfit that day except Asher when I run through the photos. So, here are some inspiration for you and your family; black and leather are very versatile for any seasons. It goes well with any denim and colours. It is a MUST ITEM in everyone’s wardrobe, including the kids’. Photos were taken at Centennial Parklands.

Hope you enjoy this section as much as I do. X

A GAME CHANGER DIAPER BAG REVIEW (PLUS MOTHER’S DAY GIVEAWAY)

Alright, today I am going to do my first ever product review. But, before we get into the business. Please be aware that MOTHER’S DAY is coming. So, here I am running a MOTHER’S DAY GIVEAWAY for one lucky mama. One stylish denim diaper bag sponsored by Eco by Naty. NOT only that, it includes an eco-friendly diapers, baby wipes, and nappy rash cream. Check out HOW TO ENTER details down at the end below. So, make sure you read this blog through.

Eco by Naty has been known for its innovative ecological baby range for more than a decade. Their vision is simple; to create the most eco products for babies and busy mothers, while remaining open and transparent about our certification and product contents.

And I am stoked when they reached out to me for a collaboration. And the first thing they do was sending me a trial box. You know it! Instantly, its owned my trust. It showed me that this brand is savvy and truthful to its quality and vision. I fell in love ever since, and proudly to be its one of ambassador.

So, today I am going to do some product review on some of Eco by Naty products; including their new and improved diaper bag design. So, let’s get into it, shall we?

Diaper bag

FIRST WORD when I saw this diaper bag // Is that a diaper bag? (literally word by word). It is super stylish, made of 100% organic cotton. I love the fact that it’s so practical for a modern and busy mother who always struggles with organisation. Easy access flap to open and close the bag. This diaper bag has several labelled pockets (see video below), which will fit most of mama essentials (wallet, phone, sunnies) and baby needs (diapers, wipes, bottles, utensils, bib, change mat, etc).

Carry this bag two ways; on the pram OR tote them. It looks so stylish in both ways no matter what. This bag allows me to travel light with 2 kids (newborn and toddler) and left my two hands free for the boys. It is the game changer for our out and about experience. I highly recommended this diaper bag for all moms who are always on their toes chasing the little monsters.

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

This bag comes with eco favourite baby products; eco diapers, eco sensitive wipes, eco rash cream. I will review each item on details below.

Disposable Diapers

Babies, they are so pure, gentle, and delicate. With the history of Jared’s eczema since birth, baby’s skin always get my attention more than any other part of the bodies. Therefore, I am quite selective in choosing the baby products for my children.

Eco diapers are cornstatch – based, not plastic. It is so soft and breathable. It is safe and non-allergic. Asher has been using eco diaper since the day he’s born with no diaper rash till today. Well, nothing worse than irritated skin, right? Eco diapers absorbency level is quite outstanding. In the normal day time, Asher (4 weeks old) uses 4-5 diapers a day without any leaking. This gives Asher more comfort during his sleep. Last but not least, it also has a cool minimalist design and stretched tape.

Processed with VSCO with a6 presetShop here

Sensitive Wipes

Jared has a sensitive skin and eczema. Some wet wipes can cause redness around his face, especially mouth area. So, I rarely use wet wipes on his face, I would rather go to washroom to clean his face and mouth. But, I hate the time I have to leave my sit in the middle lunch to find the nearest washroom.

Then, I received eco by naty wet wipes inside the diaper bag, and get extra excited to find out eco wipes are 98.5% pure water. No toxic. No chemicals. No parabean. I gave it a try on Jared’s skin and I see no redness since then. It is gentle on Jared’s skin and definitely save me from washroom run.

Processed with VSCO with a6 presetShop here

Rash Cream

If you see the some redness on your babies’ bottom, do not panicking. It is nappy rash. Baby nappy rash is common, but your baby does not have to suffer the pain. You should put it into concern when it is sore and your baby become unsettle or keep crying relentlessly.

Eco nappy rash cream is a good and eco-friendly alternative not only for babies, it is made for your toddler’s skin too. And I like the texture of eco rash cream, it is not watery, it is thick more like an ointment. It gives full layer on the skin. It also absorbs quicker onto the skin with no white marks on the bum. This rash cream works well together with the diaper.

image1

If you’re looking for an eco-friendly baby products or sensitive skin friendly baby ranges. You may wanted to give these products a chance. No nasty chemicals involved, it is safely tested for your little ones.

Lastly, I had made a debut come back to the park visit; after being confined inside the house for full 30 days after giving birth. It feels so good to finally breathing the fresh air. Here I show you my casual post-partum style and new hair style for breastfeeding mommy. Hope you like it as much as we do. X

6 COMFORT SAVVY TIPS WHEN CHOOSING MATERNITY SWIMSUIT

Swimwear season is here and you are pregnant. I SURE AM….

duh

Du-uhhh.. I feel you. sorry not sorry.

But there’s no reason to worry, take pride in your pregnant body. And find comfortable suit for your body type.

6 Comfort Tips – when choosing maternity swimwear

  1. Go Upsize – NO. I am not only talking about our Maccas meal size. I am talking about our suit size. Ha. As your breasts, busts and hip grow, it is very important to find the right size suit for you too – make sure it is not squeezing and pinching.
  2. Go Higher – a suit with higher – cut leg openings will make your legs seem longer because of the higher cut draw he eye upward, and in revealing part of your lower hip it creates the illusion of length.
  3. Avoid High Neck – high neck suits tend to press breasts down.
  4. Enough Coverage – make sure your suit provides you with enough coverage which will comfortably cover your bottom and bust as you move, bend, and sit. There’s nothing more annoying than a suit that keeps riding up or shifting, and that you have to tug at constantly.
  5. Layering – doesn’t make you larger if you do it right. A long tunic will help elongate you. And it gives an extra stylish factor to your summer shots.
  6. Don’t be ordinary – go for some patterns and colors. Just because you’re pregnant doesn’t mean you should fade into the background! But be careful with your choices. Avoid bold and large patterns, because they will zoom in your body parts. Instead go with smaller patterns when you’re pregnant. Go with smaller prints, piping, and horizontal stripes along or just under the bust. Color wise; choose a suit with blocks of color, or one solid bright color rather than wild patterns that overwhelm. Dare to stand out among the crowds. because you are beautiful.

Top Picks

Which one is your favourite? whatever you pick, one thing we all should remember; to embrace our own bodies for a miraculous life is being knitted inside your growing belly. You are beautiful and powerful woman.

Enjoy the season!! X

Love,

Kenny

DRESS YOUR BUMP IN ALL ONE COLOR

It’s the easiest way to get dressed in the morning.

There is no secret trick to wearing monochromatic outfits. As long as you have tops, bottoms, and accessories in the same color (different shades of the color work too), dressing in all one hue is super simple and looks really chic.

53a0638090ddd_-_bey5.gif

Well, since I am pregnant, let’s keep wearing BLACK. The instinct of most pregnant woman is to dress in dark colors, such as black or navy, because they think it makes them looks slimmer. “But, color actually really flatters your body,” says one of my fashionista friend.

Yesterday, I had a chance to date my best guy again. So, I gave it this style a try. AND I AM LOVING IT. I feel beautiful and slightly slimmer than my actual current body weight. so….here it is!! MY “BUMP STYLE IN ALL ONE COLOR” VERSION.

Processed with VSCO with a6 presetProcessed with VSCO with a6 presetProcessed with VSCO with a6 presetProcessed with VSCO with a6 preset

UHHHHH YES! Comfort is still on my top list. Baggy tops and loose pants. These combo are most probably the only basics that fit my body these days. And I have no regrets to collect many of them. They are easy to pair with anything in any season. Most say “bigger clothes will make you looks larger during pregnancy”. And I do agree with the statement. So, I decided to wear my favourite mules to give slimmer illusion to my body. It’s a hot day with my hot date. Heels, you do good, you won’t hurt me. Casually pair them with a similar color sling bag then finish it off with a big statement; sailor cap and jumbo hula hoops. (Some outfits are from old collections of the brand, I attached the “shop similar” link below).

Well, that’s my whole look. Now, it’s time to vote. YAY or NAY? leave your comments below. I am being serious. X

FATHER’S DAY GIFT GUIDE WITH JORD WATCH

DAD

noun

informal

  1. one’s father.
    “his dad was with him”

Dad is one of the most important person in everyone’s life. But, rarely the world brings out their significant role to the surface. Perhaps because their physical being are seen less in the house, they are doing less of the house chores, and they are not breastfeeding the bub.

BUT

those things will not decrease the value of a father. Fathers are central to the emotional well-being of their children; they are are capable caretakers and disciplinarians. Research shown that fatherless children have higher chance for a school dropped off than children with an intact family.

See, how significant the role of A FATHER IS. So, this year, let us celebrate Father’s Day significantly. First thing first, get prepared earlier. 😉

Here are some FATHER’S DAY GIFT GUIDE you should take in mind. And make this year Father’s Day memorable for you and him.

1. Pick a “timeless” piece

DADS do not need a different variety of accessories to survive the whole year. He’s counted care enough to buy new undies every once a year. Ha. So, my only tip is buy him a piece that will last throughout the seasons and will still be relevant for him to wear on every birthday. A.k.a buy a “one thing for all”. And I guess, watch is one the best option. Why? Because, the value of a watch is not in being able to tell how much time has passed, but in being aware of the need to make that time count. And this is my ultimate goal, to get him notice that moments are bigger than minutes and watch should tell more than time.

2. Choose a “stylish” piece

No matter how old your dad is, he still can be stylish. Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak – Rachel Zoe. Let the piece you picked for him are showing off their true inner personality.

3. Get it “personalised”

Nothing beats personalised gifts, doesn’t it? here’s why. It show you have put thought into choosing a gift. It also shows that you know the person extremely well and have gone out your way to make sure the gift is something they will love and treasure. Sounds like something you would get for your dad this year?

Well, I am lucky enough to partner up with Jord Wood Watches this year to get my personalised gift for my husband a.k.a father of my children. A classic timepiece that are modelled after a modern lifestyle. Not to forget that they are also provide an engrave service for all watches. Make it personal hey! And to suit his social – curios – city personality, I chose a watch from Dover series in Koa & Black. With gears in full view and structured style, the Dover Black & Koa was designed for the maker in us all.

SMALL IS THE NEW BIG

Family and Fashion; two things that are very closed to my heart. So, when Kobi & Roo reached out to me for their first ever collaboration with the entire family, I was so thrilled!  AND…I can not say NO. So here we are representing this urban apparel brand for modern family originally from UK.

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

And I am believer of a small beginning. Everything starts with a seed. And when you water them regularly, it WILL definitely grow.

Nothing was born BIG. But all things was born TO BE BIG.

Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin,…” – Zachariah 4:10

Big shouts to all the small shops across the world, I am proud of all of your boldness and courage. Including my dearest friend, Kobi & Roo. It is a small shop with a big potential. Run by a multitasking mom of two, Ezi. (love you girllll. X)

And today I had a chance to interview her further about her childhood dream and how this small shop has changed her life and her community. SO, here we go!!

1. Firstly…I must know what made you choose the name Kobi&Roo?
Kobi & Roo was inspired by my two kids Nigerian middle names. My son is Kobimdi (Kobi) and my daughter is Chierika (Roo) They both inspired the brand.
2. What inspired you to get into business and start your own clothing label?
I have always dreamt of owning my own fashion business from a young age. I finally took the bold step to set up my own modern clothing label during my maternity leave with my second child. I feel great ideas come during maternity leave (haha!) I was inspired by my kids. I love shopping for them but hate the stress of going to the shops and shuffling through piles of clothes. I am more of an online shopper, so i knew a lot of other moms are like me and want modern, unisex clothes for their kids and would prefer to buy it online. I also like the excitement i get from knowing that the postman would bring me a surprise soon and i know many people would too.
3. Why do you go for small business? What impact does it make to your life?
Small business is very important to me. I feel It is where we all start from. Start small grow big. I believe small business is a learning process, a way to make an impact to your family, community, and the world in general. I like the fact that small businesses support each other and many more people are supporting small businesses. Gone are the days of competition, we now live in a world where collaboration is king.
4. I know for myself that I struggle to find work life balance and I feel as though I am always working, How do you manage the two?
It is still a struggle as 24 hours just doesn’t seem to be enough. We as mums are blessed to be multitaskers. we try our best to wing it all. I do have my moments with balancing work and life, but the good thing about being a mom and having an online business is that you can work at your own schedule. No deadlines and no pressure. I try to balance my life by doing the most important things first, which is nurturing my family before i get down to business.
5. I know for myself too that running small business is a tough gig, with limited time and resources we have, how you overcome those and stay motivated?
I stay motivated by trusting God to see me through. I always put God first in my life as he is the giver of all good things. I also try to stay motivated by keeping to schedule. Like if i need to update my social media or create a new product for my store. Sometimes when you feel really exhausted, its best to give yourself a break and the motivation will be back if you are passionate about what you are doing.
6. Lastly, what do you think about the community’s response to small businesses today? What changes do its make to the community?
I’m so impressed with the way people support small businesses. I tell you, social media is a gold mine filled with lots of talented and creative small businesses making an impact in their community. Being a small business owner, i have met some amazing small business owners and we encourage one another through regular small business Saturday shout outs, charity and fund raising activities, and regular raffle draws. its a small business revolution.

Today, Kobi & Roo is running its 2nd brand enthusiast search for kids and has been featured on some local page. Way to go girl!!

SMALL IS INDEED THE NEW BIG

So, what are the small things you have in your hand today? Are you willing to take a big step unto them?

It’s not gonna be easy, but we are here walking this journey together and cheering on you. Oh..and any favourite small shops you would recommend? Please leave them coming on the comments below.
